After Robinson played for the Monarchs he
played for the Montreal Royals. He played in the spring of 1946. Jackie
got paid six hundred dollars a month. And because he was so good he got
three thousand five hundred dollars as a bonus. ($3500) The next year Jackie
played #42 on the Dodgers. One of Jackies Coaches told him not to be rude
and to sorta be a quite guy. The coach wanted to let everyone know
that Jackie was a good player as well as a good person. It wasn't
to hard with Jackie being such a great player for the team, that people
forgot about their racism
and root for Jackie.
