College
Jackie attended UCLA for a few years. He then dropped out to take care and support his mother. While away at college he met Chel Isum. They later got married. After he dropped out of college in 1941 he then got drifted to go with the army for world war 2.In the army Jackie celebrated his 23 birthday. After Jackie was dismissed from the army he decided to play baseball so he signed th Kansas city Monarchs contract.
