In 1739, there was a slave revolt called the Stono Uprising in South Carolina, which ended in at least 20 white men’s death. One of the worst revolts was in Virginia in 1831. The leader of the pack was Nat Turner who was a slave and a black preacher. By the time the revolt ended, 60 white people were killed which included men, women, and children.
